An individual should begin by drawing a family tree. Consider grandparents, parents, spouses, children, siblings, extended family. Although some of these family members will not count as requisite family members for the purposes of hardship, you want to begin broadly and narrow your focus. Of course, immediate family members such as children, spouse and parents are the most important indls. An immigration judge will consider their age, their health, education, financial factors, community ties, service in the US armed forces, community service, strong work ethic, strong family, contrition and even humility.
